(Washington, D.C.) – Milne, Wiener, & Shofe (MWS) Global Strategies released the below statement today following the passing of colleague Craig A. Roberts, who died on February 15 at the age of 62.

"We extend our heartfelt condolences to Craig’s family, especially his siblings Steven, Stacy, Cole, Shannon, and Susan, as well as his many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know and work alongside him."

Craig joined MWS Global Strategies as a Senior Vice President following a distinguished career in public service and congressional leadership.

"Known for his quiet integrity, sharp political instincts, and unwavering dedication, Craig brought depth, experience, and mentorship to every endeavor. He was a consummate professional and a deeply valued member of our team."

Before his time with MWS, Craig spent more than two decades serving as Chief of Staff to Congressman John Shimkus of Illinois. He was widely respected on Capitol Hill, having also served as President of the House Chiefs of Staff Association, the longest-standing bipartisan staff association in Congress. His earlier work in Illinois state government, including his tenure as Assistant to both the Lieutenant Governor and the Secretary of State, helped shape a career rooted in service and leadership.

Craig’s impact extended well beyond the offices in which he worked. He was a mentor to young staff, a trusted advisor to leaders, and a steady hand in turbulent times. He exemplified the best of public service—quietly effective, fiercely loyal, and deeply principled.

In memory of Craig’s life and legacy, his family has asked that memorials be made to Riverbend Head Start in Alton, Illinois.
